10×10, the brainchild of Tim Makower, brings together 100 participants to create 100 pieces of artwork, giving 100 different perspectives within a snapshot of London. These works are then auctioned off at a special fundraising reception evening, which this year will be held at the RIBA’s headquarters in Portland Place, London.
10×10 is a unique concept, with the architects, designers and artists producing wonderful pieces of artwork inspired by the environment they help to create, as well as providing a commentary and critique on the constantly changing landscape of London.
Every year, 10×10 zooms in on a different part of the capital. This year, we are excited to announce that the theme is Brixton, giving our artists the opportunity to explore the vital role this South London district has played in shaping the city and draw inspiration from its rich cultural diversity. Once more, we modified our conventional grid to consist of 100x100m, 50x50m and 25x25m squares along a curve of Brixton’s most vibrant spaces, making sure that our participants will truly be able to capture the spirit of this fascinating area.
